National Fashion Design Headquarters

Chicago

With its previous incarnation as a private garage for a doctor's vintage car collection, the space required a significant make-over for a designer sportswear company. The 10,000-square-foot project was also expanded to include an adjacent 5,000-square-foot building. The single-story corporate office's functions include the creation of patterns and the manufacture of prototypes for a high-end clothing line. Significant steps in the restoration and rebuilding effort included a facade restoration, the removal of giant load-bearing walls, and installation of a sprinkler system to accommodate the two different buildings.
